Our 2024 Pantomime
Update 12th December 2024
The highly anticipated production of Beauty and the Beast at the Marina Theatre in Lowestoft has been met with an unexpected change as Sabrina Washington has stepped down from her role due to unforeseen family circumstances.
Sabrina, who was set to play the witch, has expressed her regret at having to leave the production. She said:
"This decision was not made lightly, as I was truly looking forward to being a part of this magical panto and working with such a talented cast and crew. I want to thank everyone involved in the production for their understanding, and I wish the entire team all the best. I know the show will be a huge success, and I wish everyone in Lowestoft a Merry Christmas."
In light of this development, pantomime producers Paul Holman Associates have announced Georgina Liley will be stepping into the role and casting spells as the Witch Mauvaise. Her previous credits include Jennie Lee and Common Ground (Mikron Theatre Company), The Tales of Betwixtmass (Spun Glass Theatre Company), Truth and Tails, The Wizard of Oz, Beauty and the Beast, and Peter Pan (Chichester Festival Theatre).
Sam Vallerius, Theatre Manager at the Marina, expressed her team's support for Sabrina during this time.
Paul Holman added:
"We are all incredibly sorry to see Sabrina leave the production under such circumstances, but we fully understand and support her decision. Family always comes first, and we wish them all the very best. We know our talented cast will continue to bring the magic of Beauty and the Beast to life, and we look forward to welcoming audiences for a truly unforgettable panto season."
