Professional dancer Lizzie Stanley leads a session for The Next Stagers!

She has recently finished an international dance tour – travelling to China, Dubai, Canada and Israel.

But professional dancer Lizzie Stanley was keen to return to her home area to lead a workshop at the Marina Theatre – with the Next Stagers drama group for the over 50’s.

Lizzie, who grew up in Beccles, is currently appearing in Spirit of the Dance – soon to be performed at the Orchard Theatre in Dartford.

But she managed to take time out of her busy schedule to lead the session in Lowestoft on Wednesday, August 30, which featured some challenging dance routines.

“The session included two different routines – the first was a Lindy Hop routine and a second was a bit of hand clapping,” Lizzie explained.

“It was lovely to take part and everybody seemed to have a great time.”

Lizzie trained professionally at London Studio Centre for three years and has also worked as professional dancer and teacher.

She will also appear in a Halloween show at Pleasurewood Hills in October and is also performing and choreographing in this year’s pantomime in Diss.

Jason Donovan’s Midlife Crisis Tour Postponed Until Spring 2018

Jason Donovan will now appear at the Marina Theatre on Monday 16th April 2018 after postponing his date with us in December.

Everyone who has already booked a ticket with us, will automatically retain the same seats for the performance in April.

Our box office team will be contacting all existing bookers to let them know about the postponement – with people also having the option to obtain a refund if required.

In a statement, Jason said: “To all my brilliant fans and everyone who has bought tickets for Jason Donovan And His Amazing Midlife Crisis.

“It is with huge regret that due to reasons associated with my speaking voice, I’ve decided to postpone my forthcoming Midlife Crisis tour until Spring 2018.

“Those that know me will know that this was not easy decision, nor a decision taken lightly. For the past ten years I’ve done hundreds of shows and have only ever cancelled a handful of dates.

“As you can imagine, when your speaking voice is strained, it’s difficult to embark on a 35 date tour that primarily revolves around me telling stories about my career and my life! I want to be on top form so as I can enjoy the experience and most importantly that you as an audience can share these memories without a sense that I’m compromising my performance therefore my personality.

“Postponing this tour was the absolute last option but necessary if I’m to explore all avenues associated with improving this condition, which strains my speaking voice but does not directly affect my singing voice. The good news is that it is treatable but requires time, time to work through various options that medical advice has suggested.

“I will continue to fulfil all scheduled singing dates.

“There is some more good news too. Due to popular demand, we have been able to add 11 more shows to our tour, so I really hope that means everyone who wants to can come and join me for what I think will be a fantastic evening that we are all going to love.

“Again, my sincere apologies to all for the inconvenience. Thanks for bearing with me, I’ll be back after Christmas in full voice putting on a show that I’m really looking forward to.

“Can’t wait to see you all in 2018.”

The Marina Theatre would like to thank everyone for their co-operation.
